Countrystyle takes the Lead in Reducing Fire Risk

Fire training, new bunkers, Wood Recycling

As part of Countrystyle’s application to amend its waste wood processing permit at its site at Ridham Sea Terminals, Countrystyle has invested heavily in ensuring that its new processed wood storage area follows the guidance issued by the Environment Agency (TGN7.01) and the WISH Forum on reducing fire risk at Waste and Recycling Sites.

Storage bunkers constructed from fire resistent concrete blocks are being erected on a dedicated 2 acre site, which will incorporate an integrated fire and dust suppression system as well as stockpile temperature and integrated CCTV monitoring capability.

As part of its extensive planning and consultation process prior to submission, Countrystyle obtained prior approval to its integrated fire management system from Kent Fire & Rescue Service.
